[IC/OOC] Deva Abilities + Permissions

PHYSICAL

STRENGTH: He...has none. Well, it's not physically apparent; being skinny slender with the ability to chuck cars overhead is almost expected. Klement...cannot do this. If it is something within reason - say, fifty to a hundred pounds at most, the Deva can handle carrying (or throwing, if necessary) certain objects.

There's a reason why it's undeveloped and nearly non-existent: his 'job' description does not include mandatory epic battles to display god-like strength. He stays on the sidelines unless he is needed. (Unfortunately, half of the situations he comes across inevitably pull him into the fray.)

AGILITY: In summary, Klement has excellent coordination skills. His sense of balance is superb, letting him stand on the narrowest of rails and perches without any trouble. If it was not for his health, he would have willingly participated in track & field. That doesn't stop him from sprinting short distances and leaping impossibly wide gaps between rooftops, though.

ENDURANCE: This factor should also be non-existent, but it appears to be better than Klement's level of physical strength. Having to spend most of his childhood indoors due to illness is part of the reason why he became so active the moment he was declared well enough to leave his room. Of course, this was years ago. Participating in miscellaneous ventures helped in the long run, however, letting him move faster and last longer than usual.

Health-related issues still come into play if he overexerts himself (from running around too much) or whenever circumstances become too stressful to handle; this is what keeps him as an observer half of the time, and he tries to maintain a certain balance. Ironic how it all works out.

SCION POWERS

JUDGEMENT: Being a Son of Anubis, he prepares people for INEVITABLE DEATH.

In all seriousness, Klement is enlisted to manage and carry out the judgment of souls whenever and wherever he is needed. Being a Scion (and, inevitably, a Deva), his job is limited to this aspect alone. Although he usually sends the souls along, there are a few instances in which he is able to go further to ensure the souls go to their respective afterlives. The process of judgment, on the other hand, is simple: with the amulet his father gave him, Klement can let it swing on its chain like a pendulum. If it goes right, then things are good. If it goes left...the soul has no chance of avoiding its fated end. However, this all works in his world.

Being a Deva of Judgement, he can see Wakened as they are while they are still alive. Considering the Wakened, their personalities and sense of character are seldom hid, but there is no hiding the truth from him. He will know.

The power over death's permanence is undermined in Nautilus. While he is relieved of this duty, it doesn't mean he is rendered useless. Judgement still comes into play for all Wakened in the personal decisions they make – the bigger, more important decisions that can create turning points and trauma in their lives. He lets them keep their ability to choose and do what they think is right; how they go about doing this is also left in their hands. Klement knows he can influence them, but he would rather let them think it through. Again, it's all about maintaining the balance. (This is Nautilus we're talking about. This may take some work. If he has to intervene, he will.)

IDENTIFIER: Exactly as it sounds, this ability helps Klement who a person is and learn some background on them. The basics include name, age, and the like. He doesn't mean to use it constantly; its practice on the job has become second nature to him. He does know it's rude to pull up everything right when he's met somebody for the first time. Not the best first impression.

IMPLAUSIBLE METHODS OF TRAVEL: It ranges from regular modes of transportation (like walking or by automobile) to the more...confounding ways, defying normal physics and the like. Wherever he goes, there is never a moment's rest. Some can even say his appearances are almost coincidental. No normal human being may be able to witness this, but they will wonder how he got there (if they noticed, that is).

More often than not, Klement will use the closet method, closing the door of one space in order to open the same door moments later, somehow magically teleporting himself in a different location (most likely indoors in another room). No one knows how he came up with this.

BIRTHRIGHTS

STILLNESS OF NIGHT: A Relic that comes in the form of a weighty-looking gavel. Unlike regular gavels, this one has a more block-like appearance, its handle shortened in order to hold it more firmly and comfortably in a tight grip. A refined, polished black has traces of gold, blue, and white gold Egyptian-styled motifs around the edges, keeping it simple without being gaudy. It comes with a black leather holster. Never mind the fact that it can be mistaken for a gun.

It's not just for show. Striking the air with the gavel will cause any action, chaotic or not, to freeze in place. During the limited amount of time, Klement can maneuver through the space without having to fight his way through it.

ANKH AMULET: Another gift. It is basically a twisted, antiquated gold ankh with engraved designs over its exterior about three inches in height, two across, and a quarter of an inch in thickness. The item hangs from a black gold chain that passes through the ankh's loop, dropping down to Klement's chest. This is the same amulet he uses to judge souls with.

NOT THESE GUYS AGAIN: Although Klement is use to working alone, there are times when he has (unwanted) backup. Anubis primarily left these so-called followers in place so that he doesn't always have to be around to assist the young man. They look like mummies. Of course, the bandages make them look like they belong to some kind of gang...which is sort of true. So in short, Klement has his posse he can call on (or not) just in case things go south. (In-game, I doubt he'll have them around. Or maybe they will show up. I'm not sure.)
